We're Here to Help
The Peer & Family Referral Center (PFRC) is a community collaboration that supports member voice and choice. This program partners with members to discover their specific needs, working closely with other community agencies to provide resources and services that best meet those needs. This highly collaborative program works with each member’s support team to break down service barriers and ensure that the member and their families get the services and resources they need in a timely manner. Since opening in 2015, the PFRC has placed over 300 members in peer and family services.
Navigating recovery from a Serious Mental Illness (SMI) can be a steep climb. Many members receiving SMI services through Mercy Care are unaware that they are eligible for another tier of services in addition to those provided at their clinics. The PFRC can educate eligible members about available services and resources. Opening up a new world for them.
We believe a person in recovery should be involved at every level of their services. Member choice is the driving force in community program services and offered resources.
Family isn't always about blood. It's the people in your life who want you in theirs; the ones who accept you for who you are. The ones who would do anything to see you smile and who love you no matter what.
Respect is the cornerstone of Peer and Family Support. We meet each person where they are without judgment or stigma, with great patience, and compassion
The entire community is viewed as an oasis of potential resources, not an obstacle. Naturally occurring resources are considered a possibility, not just formal social services or mental health programs.
